Neri was the author of Always the Trains (New Academic Publishing, 2008). She earned a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Maryland, and worked as a college teacher and labor editor. Poems of hers were published in The Formalist, Lilith, Passager, The Lyric, Poet Lore, Potomac Review, Innisfree Poetry Journal, and The Writer’s Almanac. Neri was disabled by rheumatoid arthritis and several joint replacement surgeries. She was active with Temple Sinai, where she led their Sisterhood group.
